Since 1990, WonderFest has been the largest model‑hobbyist convention in the United States, featuring the annual Amazing Model Contest, which showcases the very best in model building

Robert took great joy in meeting modelers — both seasoned pros and beginners — at WonderFest. He loved scouring the competition floor, always on the lookout for what was new and what truly wowed him.

Kaiju Kastle will again be on the exhibit floor, offering kits from Robert’s personal collection. Proceeds will help fund future programs that carry forward his spirit of creativity, mentorship and innovation in model building.

In addition, Kaiju Kastle, in collaboration with Kaiju Modeler, will be handing out “WOW!” Awards as part of the Amazing Model Contest. Now in its second year, these awards — created in Robert’s honor—celebrate creativity and innovation in kaiju kit‑building and other modeling themes. All contest entries are eligible, with no additional fees required.

At Kaiju Brooklyn, the goal is to bring together the best of the fandom to celebrate all things kaiju in a fun and unique environment. Fans of all ages are welcome.

Japanese toys have always been the backbone of kaiju fandom, and Kaiju Brooklyn brings together some of the best toy vendors in the region. From vintage sofubi to modern, fully articulated kaiju figures, vendors offer a wide range of collectibles for every kind of fan.

Since 2014, fan art has become one of the fastest‑growing aspects of the kaiju community. While most conventions include a few kaiju‑themed artists, Kaiju Brooklyn gathers a broad range of creators to showcase their work. With panels, cosplay, gaming, featured guests, and shopping, there is something for everyone.

Select kits from Robert’s personal collection will also be available, offering fans a chance to engage with his legacy as a modeler and collector. Kaiju Kastle is grateful for the continued support from Seismic Toys, whose presence in the community strengthens events like this.

G-FEST is the world’s largest regular gathering of Godzilla and Japanese monster fans. This family-friendly convention celebrates the broad spectrum of the Kaiju genre, offering something for everyone. G-FEST features Q&A sessions and presentations with actors and crew from the Japanese Godzilla films, along with panels on fan-favorite topics, contests, gaming, and screenings of both new and classic kaiju movies.

It also features the largest kaiju-focused vendor room in the Western world, all in an atmosphere filled with fun and camaraderie.

This year, Kaiju Kastle is excited to introduce a hands-on painting program for young adults of all experience levels, led by experts from the modeling community.

In addition, Kaiju Kastle, in collaboration with Kaiju Modeler, will again present the “WOW!” Awards, now in its second year and created in Robert’s honor. This year, a new category has been added specifically for young participants, recognizing emerging talent across the community.

G‑FEST continues to bring together a community of fans and creators, many of whom were embraced and mentored by Robert over the years. Kaiju Kastle is grateful to the G‑FEST organizers for welcoming us to help shape this new program and for recognizing the lasting impact Robert had on the community he loved.
